5 Reasons why Gandhiji is hated by few

Mistakes of Mahatma?

Here  are 5 reasons why few people hate Gandhiji

1.PARTITION

British declared in 1946 that they are going to transfer power in India
Md. Ali Jinnah was president of Muslim League then who desperately wants a nation
for Muslims so that he could become the prime minister of the newly formed nation.
On the other hand Congress under the leadership of  Nehru was not in favour of  two nation theory intially . later the political scenes got  changed and Nehru agreed for partition in a meet with Jinnah and Viceroy Mountbatten.
At this Gandhiji could have disagreed with the discussion and move on with satyagraha and whole Nation would support Gandhi.

But he kept quite and this led to most nasty incident in history of India.
Partition created violence in Punjab and Bengal provinces . Nearly 5000 people were killed in kolkata  while people in other provinces are celebrating the Independence. After the transfer of power from British migration of people started from both the nations and this lead to many riots. Few records state that  1.3 million Muslims who migrated from western part to pakistan were missing and 0.8 million Sikh and Hindus who migrated towards India were missing. Dead bodies were found all over the border. This partition is done without any prior homework and opinion of people was not considered. Even after 70 years both the nations are fighting with each other .

And this whole couldn't have happened if Gandhiji tried to stop the partition because he was the person with the ability who could guide the whole nation just with his non-violence.

2.NEHRU OVER PATEL

When it comes to politics and management of situations many agree that Patel is far better than Nehru . Before the Independence from  1940 to 1946 Maulana  Abul Kalam Azad acted as president of Congress and in 1946 time came for electing the new president of Congress, and thereby the future prime minister of India . By the last date of nominations
April 29 1946 ,nominations were to be made by 15 state committees of Congress.

12 out of 15 committees nominated Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel. Still Gandhiji was in favour of Nehru . later on days Patel proved that this decision was wrong . Sardar Patel was successful in merging  manly pricely states in Indian Union and problematic provinces like Hyderabad and Junagadh . On the other hand Nehru completely failed in solving Kashmir issue on which both nations are suffering till date.

3. WORLD WAR II

Gandhiji was well known for his Non - violence all over the world . He even disagreed with Subash Chandra Bose for his violence. But here comes the contridiction Gandhi was in favour of sending  25 lakh Indian soldiers to take part in world war behalf of Allied power .
Gandhiji believed that if India helps British in World war II , in return Britain would free India .But this is aganist his non-violence method. And leaders like Bose believed if India doesn't help ,it would lead to fall in power of British and would free India. Over 87000  Indian soldiers died in WWII . This is of course great loss to India.

4. BHAGAT SINGH

Many people believe that Gandhi alone could have intervened effectively to save Bhagat Singh's life in the talks culminated in the famous Gandhi-Irwin Pact 5 March 1931, Eighteen days lay between Bhagat Singh's execution and Pact. Gandhi -Irwin was on Salt  Satyagraha  in which Majesty agreed demands like with drawl of all ordinances and prosecutions ,Release all political prisoners , lift ban on Congress etc... Many believe that If Gandhi put pressure on British Government to release of Bhagat Singh they would have done . Gandhiji wrote a letter to Viceroy regarding death sentence to Bhagat Singh ,still many question the credibility of letter because it was written on 23 March 1931 which was the day of  execution .

5.CONFLICT WITH NETAJI

In 1938 Bose stated his opinion that the INC "should be organised on the broadest anti-imperialist front with the two-fold objective of winning political freedom and the establishment of a socialist regime."By 1938 Bose had become a leader of national stature and agreed to accept nomination as Congress President. He stood for unqualified swaraj (self-governance), including the use of force against the British. This meant a confrontation with Mohandas Gandhi, who in fact opposed Bose's presidency, splitting the Congress party.

Bose attempted to maintain unity, but Gandhi advised Bose to form his own cabinet. The rift also divided Bose and Nehru. Bose appeared at the 1939 Congress meeting on a stretcher. He was elected president again over Gandhi's preferred candidate Pattabhi Seetharamaiah.      Subhash secured 1580 Votes. Sitaramaya got 1377 votes, thus Subhash winning by a narrow but clear margin. But the defeat of Sitaramayya was taken by Gandhi as a personal blow. He said “ I am glad of his (Subhash’s) victory….and since I was instrumental in inducing Dr. Pattabhi not to withdraw his name after Maulana Azad Sahib done so, the defeat is more mine than his….”. P.Muthuramalingam Thevar strongly supported Bose in the intra-Congress dispute. Thevar mobilised all south India votes for Bose. However, due to the manoeuvrings of the Gandhi-led clique in the Congress Working Committee, Bose found himself forced to resign from the Congress presidency. Bose always wanted unconditional Independence but All Indian Congress wants Dominion status .Later on years Congress came with slogan of Purna Swaraj ( complete Independence ) after Lahore Congress convention. In many ways Congress made difficulties for a great leader like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, still Bose is the who stated Gandhiji as Father of Nation . It would be a complete different scenario if Netaji leads Congress.
